With this series I was exploring how memories are tied to either visual images or to metaphors in my mind- how looking for a memory is like digging down through layers of experiences that have come afterward and have affected an experience I thought was set in only one point in time.

About the Images

Each of the pieces in this series started as part of a larger whole, and they were cut and torn apart to stand on their own. They are mostly hand-sewn and hand-quilted, and they are stitched to stretched canvas backings for ease of display.
